Philips announced a new Evnia gaming monitor series, which includes several models with different technologies, including LDC, mini-LED backlit LCDs and OLED displays.
One of the monitors, the 34M2C8600, is based on a 34" curved 175Hz 3440x1440 QD-OLED panel (produced by SDC).
According to reports in Korea, following the EU's stricter energy-saving requirements from televisions may restrict Samsung Electronics from selling its latest QD-OLED TVs in Europe.
The reports suggests that Samsung is looking into reducing the brightness of its QD-OLED TVs in order to remain within the safe zone of the new regulations, which will be enforced in March 2023.
Meta announced its latest VR headset - which is actually a mixed-reality device (AR or MR/XR) as it allows pass-through video feed. The device is based on QD-enhanced LCD displays and also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Plus, and several cameras from the inside (eye and face tracking) and outside.
The Meta Quest Pro costs $1,500 - and will ship before the end of October 2022.
Amazon launched its own branded QLED TVs, which are QD-enhanced LCD TVs, based on Samsung Display panels. The Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED Series 4K smart TVs offers Dolby Vision IQ, local dimming and Alexa support.
The Fire TV Omni QLED Series are offered in 65" and 75" sizes. The 65" model costs $799.99 and can now be pre-ordered. Shipments will begin by the end of October 2022.
